A true small-cap strategy: a concentrated, benchmark-agnostic portfolio of quality growth businesses, selected one at a time from the thousands of small companies across the emerging world. We aim to own them early, and hold them patiently as they grow into their potential.
There are more than 18,000 emerging-market companies between $20 million and $2 billion in market cap that most global investors rarely examine. Sell-side coverage is also thin: nearly 80% of that universe has no analyst recommendation at all, and accessible information is in genuinely short supply. For a passive or generalist investor, that’s the reason to stay away. For us, that’s the opportunity.
Quality has a financial fingerprint: high and rising returns on capital, margins that hold or widen as the business grows, double-digit sales growth that outpaces peers, and a strong balance sheet. We buy those businesses while they are still small and few investors are looking, and we hold them as the earnings compound.
Past performance is not indicative of future performance. Returns of less than one year are not annualized, and all returns are net of the Fund’s management fees, applicable high-water-mark fees, and Fund expenses.
The strategy seeks high risk-adjusted returns in emerging markets, with a focus on small-cap equities.
